There's an awful lot of fiddly measuring and cutting here!

Maybe, but I'm definitely a man of few pounds (sterling)Minerva wrote:You are clearly a man of many talents!
All done...

All in for around 50 quid and plenty of fabric left over for a wheel cover and some cushions.

If anyone is thinking of suggesting that maybe I need another boat to store everything in, please don't!

New "quarterdeck" ...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
and the rest of the cockpit seat back in place...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
With the new "quarter covers" to hide the ugly pipework.

It's nice to be finally at the stage where I'm starting to put things back together.

It is unfortunately. I've not intention of removing it this year; it could be one of those "can of worms" jobs.

Re: New Boat!
Looks great, like the corner covers, does the canopy fold down flat ok as looks a bit tight for the canopy to tuck under.

Re: New Boat!
The covers are flush with the transom so shouldn't reduce the storage space for the canopy. This photo gives a better idea of how they fit...

Re: New Boat!
The lamps don't work because of poor continuity in the weather-proof connectors. Unfortunately, in early versions at least, the female sockets are the split spring type and perversely the plugs are not, which means the plugs (logically I would have hoped) cannot be levered apart to create a tighter connection.
And then again it may be the bulb connection where the little springs are lazy. Part of Mr Freeman's long term intention to keep his owners busy! God never meant you to have time for drinking G & T's continuously. Boating pleasure involves some work!
Edit - Oops, I was still reading posts on page 1. It keeps happening. Sorry. Might be the Alzheimer's clicking in....

From tatty billy can...

To custom horn...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Why? Because it weighs half as much as the trumpet horn I have and I wanted to avoid stressing the repaired bracket...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Oh yes, and it cost me nothing

Yeah yeah, very nice.
Perfectly obvious really.
The hard bit must have been getting the right number of holes to make it work? lol

Today we fitted the re-chromed hand-rail stop ends...

Can you spot the silly mistake?
Adding the mast, flag staff and other bits it is at last starting to look like a boat and not an "unfinished project"..

Re: New Boat!
You might have to remove the plug off the extension lead?
Lol
Seriously though BB you have done a brilliant job. I bet you are really chuffed with the end result and you should be. It’s brilliant to take a hopeless case and turn it into a gem. I think you are a freeman hero, mate. Brilliant.
When I took my project on I was going to be diligent about the accounting costs but I have totally not written anything down. I am rubbish! Also I haven’t documented my progress like you have for the forum .... yes I am rubbish. Today I filled transducer holes in the hull and I should have taken photos but I forgot. Hey ho. Thanks for sharing your progress though.
The only thing I don’t like is your sieve horn...everything else is brill.
Lol

Re: New Boat!
Well spotted! There's a crate of champers on the way.
Many thanks for the compliments although I wouldn't have called it a hopeless case. "Tired and unloved" would be a better description. Actually it was one of the better ones I went to view and really the only one where the price matched the condition. So in fairness I started with a sound base.
I haven't bothered keeping a running total either. I think it's just pointless when I bought it for the fun of renovating and sailing it during the summer.
