Boat theft
A lot of you have prob seen this on Facebook but some low life jemmied my control panel off and hot wired the ignition we think last night. Boat was found abandoned about 2-3 miles downstream probably due to water being off and engine overheated. Exhaust melted and prob damage to impellor and possibly the engine. It was recovered by local marina and now in hands of the insurers.
Strange thing was nothing was stolen and no attempt made to get into the cabin, boat is intact apart from a rather sorry brass control panel, wood damage around it, snapped off toggle switches where it was wrenched up. Its just the engine which the worry at the moment

Re: Boat theft
Thanks for the kind offer but don't think i would get all my gauges on there. They were talking about taking it of and maybe a panel beater could reshape it.

Re: Boat theft
I think that could be repaired by a man with the right skills. Try looking for someone who repairs fuel tanks on vintage motor bikes. I think that's a job for rollers rather than a hammer but take your time to find the right man and he'll know how to get it straight again.

Re: Boat theft
That's a very sad story and I feel for you absolutely. Probably your wheel would have turned up on eBay in due course. What sort of low life goes around? Ugh! Someone used to boats?
Its why I never close the doors. Bastards like that would think nothing of kicking them in.

Hi Rich.
Yes, I read about it on Facebook. If you're looking for someone to repair it you could try Northwick Business Park near Blockley. There's bound to be someone there could help. They even make Watsonian sidecars there still.
Hope you get it sorted soon, and back on the water.

Re: Boat theft
Thanks for replies i will mention Northwick Park to the marina as they are hopefully going to get it repaired. Know it well used to work all around that area. Think it was a Polish POW camp.

Unlikely. The Poles were our allies in WW2. They may have run a camp there, possibly.
