Re: Broads meet 2016 22nd - 24th July
This will be my final post before we meet at Salhouse on the 22/23/24 July, we have 23 boats confirmed plus folks by car (50-60 people), so just need the weather.
I have paid for all the mooring booked via the Registration Form. Thanks to those who have already re-paid me by Paypal, and the promises to pay on the day or by other.
I have printed sticky back named tags for everybody I know is coming plus a few spares, each one has a unique number which will be put in a draw on Saturday to hopefully win a Freeman item kindly donated by Sheridan Marine. We have four prizes- two Freeman Caps and two Freeman pin badges.

Make sure you collect your name tag to stand a chance, I will be there Saturday with a booking in/reception table.

If anyone has a nice file of work done/ information / photographs etc they are willing to share bring it along, I'm sure it will be of interest to other owners and it can go on the table ?
Sheridan have also sent me a few merchandise items as examples of their lines, They have said I can sell these on the day at 10% discount, there are Handbooks/Freeman caps/pins/ self adhesive Freeman Logos/Keyrings/Freeman Club burgees/polo shirts and jumpers etc , all 10% saving and no postage. Numbers are limited so ask early if interested.
Important Note: I have no financial connection with Sheridan Marine and I will not be making money on any sales.
Finally I have only a half dozen copies of the New Project and Solutions Book, These are free to members of the Sheridan Freeman Cruisers Owners Club (1 copy per member) or £8.99 to non members. Bring your Freeman club card to get a free one.

Re: Broads meet 2016 22nd - 24th July
I thought I would not be able to get to the Broards Meet this year, although I will not be there for Friday or Saturday, But will be able to get down on Sunday if there is any space for me, if not I will moor out in the Broard. Our mooring is only 1/2 an hour away at Horning..

Hi Kenny, not wishing to put you off, there would definitely be space BUT I think we have to clear the moorings by 10am Sunday unless people moored up decide to stay on and pay on site for another period (£4 up to 4hours or £1.50 per Hour)
I will find out what the overnighters are doing and come back ASAP, hope that's OK.

I'm sure there will still be boats around in the morning, but not sure for how long. If we do leave by then we won't be going far

And it's mooring stern on isn't it? Never done that before and have had to make a fender especially for it....

Didn't mention it when I posted but we've made some mud weights so it's just the stern to worry about.....

Prof, just unhook the canopy along the transom and go over the seat. Don't you have a zipped back panel?
It hadn't occurred to me that stern on was largely a Broads thing.
Mud weight foreword won't be required on Salhouse, just tie both sides at the stern, you'll be fine.

There speaks the voice of experience, what do I know.... ....too long on the Southern rivers with their "fast" flows and "bigger" tidal range.
But still a worthwhile thing to have for say mooring wild in the middle of a Broad.
A small bucket filled with concrete with a cast in eye would work !
Old engine from a faulty twin ?

I didn't think I'd bother TBH taken the anchor off for the trip by road, so I'll probably leave that in the car as it won't do much on the broads mud. Might have a 10 Kg weight kicking about somewhere.
As for the canopy, yes there's a zipped panel, never tried getting out of it though

The raft (as it pretty much will be) should take care of everyone.

10kg!! You'll end up with balls like rugby balls, I wouldn't use that.Prof Pat Pending wrote:

If you have a zipped back panel, it's easy, just unzip it and walk over the transom. Remember to put a door mat on the seat, ready for re-entry.
