THAMES MEET 2016 27th to 29th August

Hi Harv

We'd prefer it if you used the form in the events tab at the top of the screen  

Makes it a little easier to keep track of who's who, what boats we have to fit on the moorings and gives us contact details should we need them

Prof, Ken has sent me "your" database of Thames attendees to print off the name tags as before. At present having difficulties with printer (hopefully just the cartridges, ordered new but not arrived yet)  When/ if I get printer going Ken will probably be on boat by then.
When will you be going ? as may need to send you the file to print or the printed labels if I can get it working.
We probably won't arrive until later Saturday as driving down Saturday morning (bank holiday!) and also need to book in at P&P pub.
Did you get Sheridan's round robin email publicising the event ? May pick up some more visitors from that !

We'll be on the boat on Friday morning, Sheridan is a good days cruise away, and if the locks are as busy as they were this week in that area we'll be late.

By all means send them to me either hard copy or electronically.

Hi Pat/Ken, would it be possible to stick us on one of the ends of the mooring so that we can have somewhere to peg out the dog so that he doesn't pester other folk? Really looking forward to next weekend.  Currently down at Hurley making our way back up stream. Rewind at Henley so expecting to make slow progress through there today. Weather improving.  All the best Sneddie.

We have plenty of space though, so you can pretty much peg him anywhere you like. 

Watchout for the crazy water taxis at Henly 

We may have to raft a few boats, we have some 32's and a 33 on the list that will take up a large section of the moorings.

For those arriving by car, RG8 OJL should put you at the end of Ferry Lane, South Stoke. Follow that lane to the river, we'll be on the left

There will be some burgee style signs showing the way.

Hey guys and gals...unfortunately it looks like Blue Peter will not be making an appearance this afternoon/evening as planned. I have been called to work and will not be able to get away in time . Gutted as I cleaned and sorted the boat in preparation for our trip, and the boys were well up for it.


What time will people be leaving tomorrow...?

Sorry, you couldn't make it  we had a fantastic weekend. We all departed this morning after an evening of BBQ, booze and general merriment.

Put next years meet in you diary, same weekend, same location

We had a fantastic weekend 


Started with an impromptu meet at a local pub.

This lasted a little longer than anticipated

So led to a night cruise to our moorings

Paid our respects to Sheridan on the way past

The moorings were fabulous, mown lawn, built in BBQ, water, elecy if we needed it, very private and secure

A restaurant on the opposite bank...one or two tender runs over there, and a village pub in walking distance.

Needless to say, we were keen to book it for next year, so that's done

And we departed on Monday morning

Anne got back as far as Abingdon and decided that was enough. I switched her off to wait for the lock and she refused to start again  

Swapped the plugs for a new set and she purred into life....we all know to keep a spare set of plugs in the boat....right

Thanks to everyone who attended and made it a very enjoyable event.
Commiserations to those that couldn't make it in the end, you missed a cracker.

We have a few plans for next year already

Whoops..... definitely a smart move to carry spares then!! The ignition coil wasn't too hot by any chance?  

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all who contributed to a great weekend at the thames meet, with special thanks to the forum event organisers, Andrew and his team at Sheridan marine and last but not least to our generous host Byron who has already booked us in for next year

Probably my fault for having the buttons so small.....my worry was that if I made them larger all of us using touch screens would be clicking away unintentionally

Pat, is it possible in the grand scheme of all things " forum" to actually remove the - minus sign completely? (Leaving the + of course)
I would hope in our gentle world of Freeman there is no need to neg anyone
