There's a lot riding on your canopy being ok as I recommend Nauticover 100% despite doomsayers adverse comments ! So they had better come up with the goods for you !
The turnbuckle tool is a godsend, of course you can buy one for £100+ and then leave it to rust in your toolbox, I think I paid £40 and got £40 back, but considering they presumably have to replace them at some time, £10 is not extortionate.
Good luck with your fitting, take your time, measure 3 times, cut once !!!
Not the best picture but Freeman meet Beccles 2020, starbrd side panels removed, so tension a bit down overall.

Went to boat today and fitted canopy got there at 12'clock and it never once stopped raining till 6'oclock when I left
the fitting was pretty straight foreword in fact far easier then I visualised i will be going back Sunday for a few minor adjustments and i will take photo's of canopy and new lever control and post them

i will post when i go down later this week believe me it is so simple but a reverlation i think the secret is the lever control it is strong enough to easly engage the gearstick i will post all components
ps i have never felt so happy with the way thinks are going half way installing EVA on the deck not only looks good but also slip proof and nice to walk on

Re: CANOPY
That's more or less the same as what I did but I couldn't enough "throw" to get sufficient movement on the gear lever to go from forward to reverse. Great to see it has worked for you.

Re: CANOPY
when the Chinese brought out this lever control I knew it was what I needed (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383912419494?hash=item5962f6a0a6:g:TpcAAOSwQFpgCTwP ) also extreme ultraflex Mach Zero heavy-duty cable every freeman I have seen with gear change had a heavy-duty lever and cable this is where I think this controller scores so well made and has the power to engage the gearbox with ease
