F26 with hard top and wanting to tilt front screen or remove to get under 6ft6 bridges
We have become the proud owners of a, F26, however to get her home we need to make the front screen tilt or easily removable, just to add to the fun of being novice boat owners. We have joined FB groups and everyone has been so friendly and helpful and pointed us this way. Any phots and advice will be gratefully received.

Do you have photos of the hardtop & screen attachment points?
Are there small knurled nuts holding the front & side screens to the top of the hull? If there are, then these can be undone and the screen sections removed.
I have the same problem where I am and so wasn't able to fit a hardtop to my F22.

Re: F26 with hard top and wanting to tilt front screen or remove to get under 6ft6 bridges
1) Do you like the hardtop? Personally I like the sun on me and manoeuvring the 26 was more difficult without getting the head up over the windscreen. The curves are such as I found it hard to judge the starboard gunnels compared to on a 23. So I got rid of my hardtop and sold it for £500. They are £2k from Sheridan so you will be able to resell it.
2) if you get rid of hardtop, its very heavy. 2 man job to lift it off.
3) if you get rid of hard top you will need new canopy. That will cost £2k ish.
4) If you regularly want to remove screen you need to get rid of hard top. However if you like the hardtop and this removal is a one off then just remove hardtop and screen, lay the screen on back seat and hardtop on cabin roof, do your bridge and then refit on other side. but note need a couple of strong people to do the lifting.
Some 26 owners on the broads have amended their screens to tilt because they regularly go under low bridges. However if its a one off then you are better off just removing hardtop, unbolting the screen and reassembling after.
Its getting late in the season now and I would recommend "living with the boat" before you decide what to do. If you just want to get her home and cant be bothered with the hardtop and screen removal, just pay Tony Anderson to put her on a trailer and take her back to base. I would also recommend putting her on dry dock and giving her a coat of A/F if not done before sale (I assume this is New Dawn).

Might be easier to lift out and trailer home Maureen depending on where you are going. If your normal cruising area has low bridges then that won't help but if you are traveling just to get home then it might be an option.
