Watch out for "Firecrest". It's the NT's mooring fees collection squad. Also some spots on the islands are being designated "No Mooring" because of wildlife.

Only sign of wildlife I've seen on those islands is Canada geese. I would imagine that all other wildlife will be put off (like many boaters) by the amount of goose c**p all over the place. Take your shovel!

Serene picture...there is just no flow on the river at the mo... it needs to rain in august or I can see "lock rationing" occurring. It will probably bucket down for the august meets!

Which do we dislike most? Canada geese for their huge feet in quantity, puddling their muck, or Egyptian Geese for all their prettiness but their mind-warping constant warning cry and their special ability to defecate every twenty seconds with something you will never forget if you tread it into your carpet or car. Forget worst dog poo!

This one has a Parquet floor and I've spent all summer buying old floors and trying to match to the original panels and spending £90 on Skippers 2 pack varnish so that'll do for this year I think. I don't mind the grey unvarnished teak personally but I do agree that the royal blue and new varnish look good together.Minerva wrote:Ps...ideal time to varnish those rubbing strokes eltheda...the varnish goes off in about an hour in these temps! Hi eltheda... I think the dreaded spellcheck kicked in...I meant strakes not strokes! Those wooden things running down the side...anyway your boat looks great!

Royal Blue, or perhaps Britannia Blue, a la the yacht of that name? Looks very like it when enlarged. Whatever, very smart.
