Cannot log on

Hi Pat. I cannot log on with my iPad but I can with my iPhone!!! It appears that as soon as I hit the log on icon, a number of randomly selected web sites appear thus preventing me from logging on. I suspect they are related to those infernal pop ups!!! Any thoughts??

Ditto, tried on my ipad last night, sends me straight to the log on password page then defaults to random pop up sites. Tried on my wifes Kindle Fire and exactly the same.

Hmmm, I don't see that with my iPad, but have seen there have been some issues raised on the support forum. 

I'll look into it a bit deeper.

Forumotion have posted that this issue should be fixed in a couple of hours. Other forum admins is have mentioned that a refresh after opening the login page can help (worth a try)

Ok on Hudl using Android, except having to log on nearly every time recently despite log in details supposedly saved, but not really a problem

Could the problem be I am using three items, tablet and, mobile both on Android, and a desktop  (dare I say) on Vista, (basically used just if i want to print,) must get a new compatible printer next time, but using up a stash of ink cartridges!

No doubt Forumotion have been playing with the servers and I have synchronised the forum a couple of times recently which might be why you are having to log back in

Tried the refresh option but still no joy!! I'll try again later today. The problem with using the iPhone is that it doesn't offer full functionality!!

You probably get the mobile version by default Jeffe.

You should be able to switch over to the classic version.
If I recall correctly there is a small menu icon in the top right of the screen.

Periodically, I seem to be able to send you a reply!!! but then I receive a load of unwanted web sites and it seems as though my reply hasn't been sent?? It's almost like I have a virus but only on the forum site

Try looking for an email now

They are having an issue with redirection ads at Forumotion.
They are looking into it

Apparently, clearing your browser cache may also help with this issue.

Forumotion seem to have fixed this for now

The ads pay for the forum, I can block them all for a fee...a bigger fee and I can block them for guests (i:e if you're not logged in) which would have been required in this case. But as I already pay a fee for the storage space for the photo galleries it'll have to stay if it's going to remain a free forum

Pat -  did I just understand you are personally paying for an aspect of a forum that is free to other members? That's plainly unfair to you. Would a sub from members be appropriate? I remember Bill who ran the original forum had hinted at a sub but in the end didn't seem to bother tho' many members were quite happy to contribute as I'm sure would be the case now. I'm personally glad no ads after logging in. So many intrusive ads everywhere else its a pleasure to be free of them here.

I pay for the gallery storage space Stephen, it's not much and I'm happy to swallow that.

There are two levels of ad removal, members and members/guests, the later beng twice the price. To get rid of the ads at login we would need the later, at the moment we have neither. 

I must admit that I haven't found the ads too intrusive until recently....Forumotion are getting a fair amount to pressure to resolve the issues, hopefully it'll be back to normal soon. 

If there is enough pressure from the members of this forum to make it ad free, I could set it up that people willing to make a small contribution to the running costs could buy a few points...the more points the more features.

Pat i run a forum through forumotion and have been having the same problems for a week or so now.
I dont pay for storage space through people use image hosting sites to post there photos.
I bought credits this morning funny enough to take of the adds in the short term till its sorted.
Think its was 200 credits for a month £5.
 
Ive had a lot of good imfo from this site so dont mind putting something back into it.

That might actually work better Derek

It's not daft money, although buying by the month is an expensive way of doing it. 

Hosting sites for posts, gallery for extra photos.
I think it's quite nice to be able to have numerous photos of our boats in one space
