Beccles Freeman boat meet 2022

I am pleased to announce our annual Freeman meeting at Beccles Yacht Station to kick off the 2022 season is on

Start  Thursday 2nd June ( BH) through to Sunday 5th June 2022. !!!!!!!!!

More information to follow and a booking slot will be created under the CALENDER EVENTS tab at some point.

Great news Derek. Lady Elizabeth IV will be there,  I have sent an email to Beccles Food Festival people asking them if they had considered moving the Food Festival from the traditional May Bank Holiday weekend to this one off Sapphire Jubilee 2022 Bank Holiday weekend as its always fun to walk around Beccles Market on the Saturday for the Festival

With under two months to go to the 2022 Beccles Freeman meet please contact me on Facebook messenger to reserve a mooring or for further information. We have approximately 13 boats booked in to date (11 April)

Slots may be limited due to it being a Bank Holiday and the Queens Jubilee weekend

The twelve stern on mooring provisionally booked for the Beccles meet (2-5 June 2022) are now all taken.
 Any further moorings will be at the discretion of the Harbour Master, as it is the Queens Jubilee weekend and also a Bank Holiday spaces were limited.


 The boats booked in for stern on mooring are: 
Flittermouse. Riomar. Pietro Gianni II. Stravaigin. Gentle Drift. Thumper. Lady Elizabeth. Two Jays II. Xaghra. Laughing Bouy. Freeway. Dragonfly


The following boats are booked Side On direct with the Harbour Master.
Acuerela. Bojangles. Sundowner.

Suggested  activities for the weekend....
Arrivals from Thursday
Pizza night Thursday 2nd 
Drinking
BBQ night Friday 3rd 
Drinking
Fish and Chips supplies as usual but for Saturday 4th,
Drinking
Sunday would  be the day people will leave for this different Bank Holiday weekend


A raffle has been suggested with proceeds going to the Ukrainian Appeal, so contributions please and be generous !

A couple of pictures from the 2022 Beccles meet.
Twelve boats from various locations including the Northern Broads and the Thames arrived to make this a successful get together with  many memorable moments, not least the ' Ships Salute' for the Queens Jubilee at midday on the 4th June ( A Facebook video of this can be seen on the Freeman Cruiser page)

Hi John, it wasn't my video, I just reposted it on here from Simon Baines post. You needed to be there ! It wasn't just the Freeman gang, most boats at the Yacht Station joined in, Some big ones too. Brooms, Haynes and hire boats.

I agree,  GOD BLESS HER ! She has presided over 70 years of massive change, but she remains constant, unlike some !

A massive THANK YOU. To those that organised this fantastic gathering and to all Freeman boaters attending. To the Northern Broads gang whose hospitality before, during and after the meet was exemplorary. To the 'Thames boys'+Clive for tagging along allowing me the 'comfort blanket' factor to take GD back to the north side via the sea route. To Ray and Maureen for allowing GD a little more time on this special area of water and finally a special Thank You to a guy who without his generosity, enthusiasm, special skills and unwavering friendship this trip would never of happened,Tony Anderson. If youve never done it try it, you wont be dissapointed.It was a true trip in a lifetime and I am so greatful to you all.

Hope you can make it next year Ken.
The Thames and the Northern Broads boys and gals keep this meet alive and worth the effort. 
And what can I add about TT ? Nothing that hasn't already been said,  nice one !!
