Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
After a fabulous weekend on the Thames with a great bunch of people, I am very happy to announce that the 2017 Thames meet will be at the same location as this years

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
We have at least one boat making the trip from the Broads to the Thames meet this year
Tony has offered his usually discounted rates for those visiting the meets, it's a great deal and you won't be restricted to the days of the meet if you fancy making a holiday of it

If you are planning to use Tonytugboats to transfer your boat by road, can you please get in touch ASAP as he has some planning to do.
If you are contemplating it, I can say from personal experience, that Tony makes it all very stress free and for Freeman owners attending events, extremely reasonable as he does it at cost

Last time I spoke to Ken, he said he'd be there, but he hasn't registered yet. As it stands only the boats named above have confirmed, but verbally there are more
Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
It would be nice to see a turnout like the Broads meet on the Thames
We came up with the crazy idea of spanning the river outside Sheridans with Freemans last year. The idea came too late, so it didn't happen, but it would be fun to have a crack at it this year

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
Hi Chtis
I have a bit of catching up to do, the day job has got in the way, but as of Friday we're in enforced shutdown, so I'll have a couple of weeks to catch-up
Not quite sure why this thread was the place for this though...I suppose it is at least the Thames

No, that's me this year, Ken had too much going on with knee surgery and recovery whilst cruising
12 boats so far, including one of TT's fleet, another 3 have said they'll be there...a few names missing that I'd hoped would be there again though Still time to add your name to the list though.
I'm afraid there will be nothing specific happening at Sheridan this year (they're up for something next year) but I'm sure we'll keep ourselves entertained. The BBQs will be fired up (permanently if this weather doesn't pick up) and I'm sure the beer & wine will be flowing

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
l'm sure some will take advantage of a raiding party to Sheridan's, too much to miss for foreigners given the opportunity !
Pat, hope your going to get the names to me in time to produce the name tags ? I'll do some blanks so they can be written on.
I have these to date with names, so only extras needed.
With Boats from Cognitive
Blue Peter, Platypus, White Orchid, Beau Nydal, Our Phoenix, Friday's Child, Anne, PG, Inharmony, Stavaigain, TTB
Landlubbers
Maureen and Ray, Trevor and Lorraine.

Surely you have some new takers since you sent me the Excel sheet ? (which l still have I'm sure)
perhaps we're at cross purposes here, l have all the names for the ones l have listed, just need anyone not on my list ?

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
Bit surprised Sheridan didn't want to make a thing of the 60th, called in there on my way back from meeting Ken, bought the 60th pennant, because until I saw Kens, it hadn't really registered.

We will have people coming by road and boat, so can chuck some event tables, and a pop up gazebo in if that helps

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
Can't hurt Chris
There's 2 or 3 picnic benches there and a couple of permanent BBQs. We always have a table and chairs for 5 onboard.
We strung up a shelter in the trees last year, still have that (the owner never answered my messages about returning it) but gazebos would work well

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
Thanks for organsing this peeps...it hasn't been mentioned but is there any costs involved with this at all such as mooring etc? I only ask as I am now 50/50 with work and may need to bail last minute. I don't want to leave anyone out of pocket so will quite happily pay what is owed now to make sure?

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
Hi Harv
It'll be a shame if you can't makes it.
There's no mooring fee as such, last year we had a whip round for our host, who promptly donated it to charity.

Re: Thames meet 26-28 Aug 2017
For those arriving by road, RG8 0JL should put you in Ferry Road, South Stoke. This leads to Ferry lane, at the end of this lane is a small slipway. To the Left of the slip is the gate to the venue.
