Hi All.   Both Belinda Lottie and myself had a fantastic weekend, being the newcomer of owning a freeman, it was an adventure as well as our first weekend on the boat. what a great bunch you all are, and so pleased that we chose a freeman to become a fellow member within the club. we finally got home at 11.30, having stopped at Sonning for a bite to eat, we caught up with Dave and Marie, who stopped just above Wargrave. we marched on, and by the time we got to Henley , we starting meeting up with 500k boats with crews, who didn't actually know how to operate locks and it became painfully slow. By the time we got though the next lock, we were in total darkness. 2.5hrs in sailing down the Thames in the dark, not my cup of tea, especially if you add a few barges all making their way home from the reading festival, and drunk as skunks.  anyway thanks to everyone who attended, great to meet up with you all , and thanks to Pat for arranging it all. Look forward to the 2018 meet at the same location.

Should any of the Thames meet attendees be interested...

Byron's funeral will be on Tuesday 12th September at 12:30 pm at St. Andrew's Church, South Stoke. Following the service there will be a wake at the Perch and Pike in the village.

Donations to Auxiliary Coastguard or Action on Hearing Loss, Bath.

Thanks Olive. Hope the speedometer czar isn't slowing you down too much and it's working OK.  Smashing to see you both.

On another matter. Didn't read info re Byrons funeral until day after. Such a shame, a privilege to have known him all to briefly.
