Beccles 2019, 24-27th May
The following have booked via the Freeman Event page so far
Derek, F23 Flittermouse
Pat, F23 Anne
Marek, F22 Gentle Dreamer
Tony TB, Boat ???
The events page can be accessed without being a member or even logging on,
(https://freeman-cruisers.forumotion.co.uk/portal)
but it does give me relevant details to pass to the Beccles Harbourmaster.
Beccles prices to be confirmed, check their website for details.
These are Oulton Broad prices (2018?), I presume Beccles will be similar ?

Re: Beccles 2019 24-27 May
I have added 'E' against those I believe want an electric hook up in the previous posting.
Don't get too concerned if you require leccy and not marked, as electrical hook ups are not so much a problem as side on moorings ! As long as people remember....
1. Bollards may need to be shared, if you have a splitter please bring it.
2. Maximum ampage at each bollard is 8A or 10A IRC, so high wattage appliances are a no no if you want to be sociable !!
You will pay the mooring fee including the electricity surcharge (if required) on the weekend to the Harbour Master yourself.
I do not pay a block booking, only reserve a Freeman group reservation !!

Re: Beccles 2019 24-27 May
This is the weather forecast for Beccles for the days of the meet, looking promising
High pressure should remain close enough to maintain largely dry and calm conditions across most of the country, although fronts edging in from the west could stall over Ireland and western Britain, giving some more widespread rain and perhaps one or two windier days here. Otherwise, it seems that many areas can expect a good deal of fine and sunny weather, although it may become warm enough to trigger one or two afternoon heavy and thundery downpours for southern and central areas. However, these won't provide any meaningful rain in what looks to be a rather dry end to the month
Monday 20 May—Sunday 2 June
Pressure building and temperatures rising
Although the final third of May could begin with weak areas of low pressure remaining close to the UK, perhaps bringing some wet weather for a time, we anticipate high pressure to build across central and northern Europe, to the east of the UK. This gives an increased chance of some widespread and sustained warm weather developing, with winds potentially wafting up from the south-east.High pressure should remain close enough to maintain largely dry and calm conditions across most of the country, although fronts edging in from the west could stall over Ireland and western Britain, giving some more widespread rain and perhaps one or two windier days here. Sorry Rupert but my powers over the weather god do not extend to full control.
But as Marek said it certainly didn't spoil the weekend, just fish and chips were consumed on the boats , but normal service was resumed an hour or so later !

It wasn’t bad at all, if that’s all we get this year, we’ll be more than happy.
I think we managed to keep the fish & chips dry

That looks great Derek
Anne arrived on the Broads today, can’t wait to join her.
I won’t do a Deano style follow my trip to the Broads, wouldn’t want the authorities to see how keen I am to get there

What a great weekend, well done Derek
We had quite an exciting trip down, with one boat losing power on Breydon. It was retrieved from the mud bank and repaired whilst under tow

That’s brilliant Pat. You were lucky it was so calm there. On the IOW Solent stretch it was really quite rough yesterday. Great photos!

It was brilliant
We went round for a view of both beaches, the water was amazingly calm.
If it’s reasonable next year, we’re skipping the Breydon crossing and going round the outside
