Re: Beccles Meet. May 25-28th 2018
I need to give final numbers to the harbour master by the 18th May.
At present we have 15 definite bookings so thanks, it's a record breaker again !
The weather forecast is warm with sunny spells, so hopefully will be very enjoyable

Just so people who have booked know if they have been logged, here is a list of boat names I am aware of :
(I have posted this on both Facebook pages as well)
Anne, Kittiwake, Flittermouse, Frolic3, Mabel Rose, St Hilda, Lady Liz 4, PG2, Willy 2, Minimax, Yasmine2, Liberty, Summer Rain, Acuerela.
Possibly Liz and Marek in Gentle Dream ??
I am checking my desktop computer, as there may be some that didn't get on my tablet, if so will amend shortly

Re: Beccles Meet. May 25-28th 2018
It's here and of course we had rain last night, typical !! Thunderstorms (weather forecast keeps changing !) Some light showers forcast today but sunny for the main days of Saturday and Sunday.
Deano in F30 has spent the last week or more making his way from St Neots via the Wash, Wells and finally into GT Yarmouth.
Anne and Mable Rose have trailored from the Thames and ?? to get to Beccles. Five more have joined the flottilla across Breydon, so we should break the number record again. Well done Freemaneers. With some people coming by road and rail to be with us ,a good time is expected. I'm sure there will be pictures aplenty added in the course. Already some good pics and videos on Facebook.

Re: Beccles Meet. May 25-28th 2018
Derek, I have to congratulate you on organising another outstanding event.
The weather was wonderful, apart from a two hour spell on Sunday evening,
but we still managed to get back off our boats a socialise over a few drinks
The company was as good as ever and what can I say about the entertainment line-up, I’ve seen less variety in a royal variety performance
Arranging a food festival was a great idea, can we book that for every year please

I would like to thank all those that made the trip to the Beccles meet. Some coming but a mere 45 minute trip, others spending a week traversing the country and sea or making the Breydon passage to make an appearance and a couple of boats arriving on the Broads under the careful watch of Tony Tugboat's trailer. It was good to see three new boats taking part, all with relative newcomers to the excitement.
A total of 16 boats attended, and it is obvious from the Facebook pictures, a good time was had.
In between searching for the anchor, unhooking my boat from the quay at 4 in the morning !(thanks Tony and so sorry to wake you up) much alcohol and food was consumed. and tales of past experiences exchanged, the experiences getting louder and more outrageous as the nights drew on ! By chance a food and beer fest was being held in the town, and many clinking bags returned ! Pizza's on Friday night, BBQ on Saturday evening and delicious fish and chips on Sunday (the order being double last year's at over £120 !!)
So on to the next, John Simpson's GT Ouse meet, another Salhouse bash for the ever faithful, the tidal Thames and the South Stoke Thames events rounding the year off !
