A few early details of the Broads meeting,  more details of programmed  events it's hoped to run to be posted !

The 22nd is for early arrivals who may wish to moor up that night (£8 fee)
The 23rd will be the main day, bbq, boat snooping, chatting etc (£4 per boat mooring for the day, again £8 if overnighting) free for those coming by car, although a £1 contribution to the car park fund would be welcomed.
The 24th events to be decided, plus leave for home after a lovely weekend !

We will be opening an event registration form soon for the Broads and the Thames event, please enter your details so numbers requiring day or overnight moorings  can be saved as before. I will be prepaying the mooring fees based on this info for the Broads meet only.  I will expect to be recompensed in due course !!
Spread the word amongst fellow Freeman'ers, all welcome, past present and future  Captain

Just need to sort the weather now Neutral

Derek

Please keep this thread for the Broads event only as per the title otherwise the subject gets " overwhelmed "  Thanks chaps
Old Man
At some point the Thames "do thread" will appear, ditto that.

It keeps the information more relevant and " get attable " !

As some of you have already spotted, there is a registration form for the meets that is available in the events tab at the top of the page Smile
Or follow this link http://freeman-cruisers.forumotion.co.uk/portal

A link to this will also appear in Sheridan's Freeman Owners club newsletter and I will be sending a mail-shot to all forum members

Only three months to go before the Broads meetings at Salhouse, so please register your interest  (Thames meet as well).

See Events section.    http://freeman-cruisers.forumotion.co.uk/f18-events

Although this sounds a bit formal, we have to have an idea of numbers coming or wanting moorings to book the space. As previously stated,  (Salhouse only)overnight mooring will be £8 and day moorings £4
Last year was in my opinion a resounding success, so let's go one better this year.

With the Freeman article in The Motorboat Magazine, Sheridan publicising the meeting, Facebook, Twitter  The Forum and of course word of mouth, we could easily accomplish this.  sunny

Re: Broads meet 2016 22nd - 24th July

Post by F23 flittermouse on Fri Apr 29, 2016 4:50 pm

I have been asked to explain how the system will work booking moorings at Salhouse for the Broads meeting.

This is how I expect it to work:

1.) Once we have an indication of numbers requiring overnight moorings (£8 ) I will make a block booking with Belinda at Salhouse approx 4-5 weeks before the event.

2.) I will also pay the block fee for the reserved moorings. By this time I expect to have received reimbursement from participants via Paypal (I will send out my Paypal details)

3.) Day mooring will be £4, again it would be great to pre book this in a similar manner so we know numbers to expect and can reserve your spaces. This should ensure if you turn up there should be a space for you.

4.) I will try and reserve a few spare spaces for any  newcomers that may arise from Motor Boat Magazine/Sheridan/Facebook/Twitter etc and even our own Forum.

People attending by car will find a free car park at the top of the lane (Donations for upkeep of £1 would be welcome, paid into the locked hollow post !)

Any problems you foresee I haven't covered, PM me and I will try and respond ASAP

Book up, Have fun see you there   sunny

Derek (Flittermouse)

Post by Liberty on Sat Apr 30, 2016 1:55 pm

I'm comming by road unfortunatly, as some know, I occupy my days as a school teacher and the meet is on the first day of the summer holidays.... unfortunatly my proposition to the headmaster to take 9Q as my crew in the final week of term was rejected.....  I can't think why... it would do them good!

So, I will be camping and have already claimed my spot with "Belinda of the Broad".  If anyone needs assistance on the land side of things... just shout.
I can bring a Coleman Event Shelter if required.... a big gazebo but more aerodynamic.... it doesn't blow away like a gazebo can!!!

if you can fit in your event shelter Deano , I can save the space, that mine would take up, not sure if I've got the family car for this year (probably not) and Micks might struggle with BBQ and gazebo.

I will be making an offering to the Rain God to stay away, so that will be the weather sorted too ........ All included in the mooring fee !

:

This is turning out to be serious money   approaching £200.  What a Face
please , if you have booked or still are going to do so, you are committing to reimburse me the fee I will be paying on your behalf.

Just to remind owners:
£8 per 24 hr Inc overnight Friday and or Saturday, £4 if you are just staying the day (Saturday)

I'm sure everyone will pay, if you change your mind about coming, the cut off date will be 2 weeks before the meeting, after that the money will have been sent and it will be too late !! You will owe me!!

Sorry to be firm about this, but I can't afford to lose my own money. pale

Fantastic job Derek, I am sure, all attendees are honourable and will do "the right thing", even if things go awry for them and for whatever reason they cannot attend.  After all your efforts, there should be no reason whatsoever, that you are left out of pocket.  I'm sure you won't be.
As its getting to be a major event, perhaps you should start considering the venue and date for 2017 meeting, that you can share amongst this years revellers.  I would be happy to join your committee, for 2017 meet (it shouldn't all lie on your shoulders), if you are looking for volunteers.

Thanks Dave for your input, much appreciated as is your offer of help in 2017, I am not doing this all alone, Prof has always been in the background doing the techie stuff ( I find technology moves faster than I can keep up)
Debs, I know you wouldn't let me down as I'm sure everyone else wouldn't do either, I will collect on the Saturday as stated, just wanted to get the point over that with the runaway success of the numbers coming the outlay is getting not insubstantial !!
